Smart Pay is designed for busy parents that want to make sure their child always has money but may not always have the time to constantly check their account balance. STUDENT MEAL ACCOUNTS FOR PURCHASES IN THE CAFETERIA:
All students have meal accounts set up in the computer system used by the cafeteria.
The student’s school issued I.D. number is used as the meal account number. A student my find their number at the top of their class schedule or report card.
A student my access their account by using their student I.D. card’s bar code located at the bottom of the student I.D. card. The card is used in card reader at the cash register to purchase items. This is why we ask that students do not give their I.D. card to another student to use.
If a student does not have their student I.D. card, other types of identification may be used. A type of identication that can verify the identification of the student. Such as in driver’s license, military I.D., student agenda, class schedule, report card.
We ask for identification to ensure the person trying to use the meal account is the person authorized to use the account.

The cafeteria provides a selection of hot breakfasts, cereals, and breakfast sandwiches.
Breakfast is served from 7:00 a.m. until 7:40 a.m.

Students are NOT ALLOWED to withdraw money from their lunch account. Once deposited into a student’s meal account, money is used for PURCHASES ONLY.
RETURNED CHECK FEE
There is a RETURN CHECK FEE of $ 40.00 for each returned check.
Please note, all school cafeterias use an outside agency as a check recovery system.

FREE & REDUCED MEAL
FREE and REDUCED priced meals are available at all schools. All Stafford County children who received these meals last school year, will receive the same meal status for the first 30 days of the new school year. It is the parent's responsibilty to re-apply during this 30 - day period (by October 1, 2009). If no new application has been received by October 1, 2009, the child will go to a PAID status.
FREE and REDUCED meal pricing also covers breakfast meals.We encourage children covered by FREE or REDUCED pricing to eat breakfast daily.
FREE and REDUCED price meal status can apply at any time during the school year - including short-term family hardship.
Applications are in both English and Spanish.

VEGETARIAN MEALS

Mountain View Cafeteria offers several choices for Vegetarians.

Monday is the Potato Bar.

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday we serve Salad Bar.

Daily, the cafeteria offers Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich with a yogurt. Also hummus with pita bread.

Meatless entrees are offered on the menu several times during the school month. Please check monthly menu for these items.
FOOD ALLERGIES
Students with food allergies can receive food substitutions when a statement from a recognized medical authority is provided to the school nurse. The cafeteria will receive allergy information from school nurse. Allergy will be noted on student’s lunch account. The cafeteria will help monitor these food substitutions as long as the student uses their cafeteria lunch account (computer system) by scanning their student I.D. at the cash register.

Which lunch a student eats, is determined by which class the student has during C Block. Please contact counseling office on how the school determines which classes have which lunch period.

Did you know – All food items sold in the cafeteria meet the Dietary Guidelines for Children at each age level.
Did you know – That over a week’s menu the calories from fat are less than 30% and less than 10% of the 30% is saturated fat.

School Nutrition has both! Consider taking a part time job with your local Cafeteria. Enjoy weekends, evening, holidays & summers off as well as inclement weather days off with your children. We host the best customers in town as well as a motivated, mature and caring staff. The work atmosphere is high energy, clean and teamwork oriented. Contact the School Nutrition Office for details. Even if you cannot work a full week give us a call.
We have substitute worker opportunities, which gives you the option of working when and where you want. Worker salary ranges from $9.02 per hour to $10.21 per hour and substitute wage begin at $9.02 per hour.
