Dr. Stemple was named principal of Mountain View High School in April of 2004. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Kent State University in 1987, where he majored in technology education and minored in general science education. Dr. Stemple earned his Masters of Science in Education in 1988 from Virginia Tech. He began his teaching career at Stafford High School in August 1988 where he taught technology education while coaching football, basketball and softball. Dr. Stemple also served as the sophomore class sponsor and the Technology Student Association Club sponsor. In the spring of 1995, Dr. Stemple began his administrative career as an assistant principal at Brooke Point High School. In December of 2000, he was named principal of North Stafford High School where he remained until his most recent appointment. In May of 2004, Dr. Stemple earned his doctorate in education from Virginia Tech. Dr. Stemple has three children which attend school in Stafford County.

Mr. Conner was named Assistant Principal at Mountain View High School in June 2007. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Old Dominion University in Technology Education in 1971 and his Masters Degree from the University of Virginia in 1974. Mr. Conner taught high school and middle school before being appointed Assistant Principal at Stafford High School in 1974. In 1982 Mr. Conner was named Assistant Principal at North Stafford High School and was a wolverine until the year 2000. Mr. Conner returned to Stafford High School from 2000-2007. Mr. Conner has two married daughters and one grandson.

Chris Courtney was named Assistant Principal Athletics/Activities at Mountain View High School in October of 2004. He received his Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech in Health Physical Education and Recreation. He began his teaching career at Woodbridge Middle School in 1976 where he was also appointed Athletic Director. Mr. Courtney has served as a teacher, Department Chairman and Acting Assistant Principal while in the Prince William County School System. He came to Stafford County in fall, 1989 where he taught Industrial Cooperative Education at Stafford High School. In 1993 he was appointed Assistant Principal Athletics/Activities at the then new BrookePoint High School.   As an Administrator in the Athletic Arena, he has presented at State Conferences, served on the VIAAA Board and currently is the representative for the Northwest Region to the Executive Committee Re-Districting / Re- Classification Committee.

Ms. Houk was named assistant principal of Mountain View High School in November of 2004. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from James Madison University in 1983. Ms. Houk received her Masters of Education in Education Leadership from George Mason University in 2001. She began her teaching career at West Springfield High School in Fairfax County where she taught English and coached cheerleading. After moving to Stafford County in 1992, Ms. Houk continued to commute to Fairfax County to teach and to coach at Lake Braddock Secondary School. She accepted a position at North Stafford High School in 1999 to teach Dual-Enrollment English and later served as Administrative Assistant. Ms. Houk is married and has three children attending school in Stafford County.

Mr. Mark Smith was named Assistant Principal of Mountain View High School in March of 2005. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 1994 and his Masters of Education in Education Leadership from George Mason University in 2003. He began his career in education at North Stafford High School where he taught Chemistry, sponsored the Graduating Class and coached two state champion cheerleading squads. Mr. Smith has served as an administrative intern at North Stafford and as Assistant Principal at T. Benton Gayle Middle School. GO WILDCATS!

Mrs. Karen Mays was named Principal Intern of Mountain View High School in August of 2007. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education from Longwood University. Mrs. Mays began her teaching career in Prince William County at Potomac High School in August of 1987. She taught Health, Physical Education and Driver Education and coached girls volleyball and soccer. In August of 1991, Mrs. Mays helped open C.D.Hylton High School. She continued to teach and coach as well as serve   as the Assistant Activities Director. She remained at HyltonHigh School for 16 years until moving to Mountain View High School for the 2007-2008 school year. Mrs. Mays received her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from George Mason University in 1994. She then completed a Masters of Education endorsement in Education Leadership from George Mason University in 2004. Mrs. Mays is married and has one son attending Stafford County Public Schools. She has lived in Stafford since 1996 and is excited to be living and working in the Stafford community.
